Package: gnome-power-manager
Version: 2.32.0-2
Severity: normal
Hi,
on 2.6.35 kernel the g-p-m shows the remaining percentage of battery,
together with the estimated run time.
on 2.6.36 kernel it only shows:
Laptop battery discharging (15%)
On both kernels a simple
$ acpi
does indeed show the right thing, like now on 2.6.36:
Battery 0: Discharging, 16%, 00:46:36 remaining
All the best
Norbert

This was fixed upstream in 0.9.8:
commit 2af7a6e091bb62faff9cdda5bb7e3fb5dcc8d15a
Author: Richard Hughes <[email protected]>
Date: Mon Dec 27 19:22:11 2010 +0000
Support the power_now sysfs attribute to get time remaining on new kernels
The kernel has removed the insanity of providing current_now in either
(and unspecified) units of uVh or uWh and instead provides power_now
for the power rate value.
