Michael, It appears it almost "just works".  I just tried publishing
today's planner day page and tex barfed on the '@' symbols in some of
my task/appointment lines.

Interestingly, I tried to publish to xhmtl, which appears to have
mostly worked, then used html2text to convert to text.  The later step
produced a beautiful text doc from my planner page (I used the command
'html2text -style pretty') .

The only problem, and this happened in the publishing of the original
planner page to xhtml, was that the task list did not get interpreted
as a list, but rather as one long line.

I'm guessing it's only a small tweak here and there to get this fixed.
