I use darcs to synchronize my home and work Planner instances. It's been working out ok for me, but I'm quite careful to pull and push changes regularly. If we can build a feature list for a smarter system, then perhaps we can do it. My main complaint with the darcs method is that I have to go and manually renumber the notes.
