It's not an error. It's a typo.

This should be <contents depth=4>. This error is preventing the <calendar> from
publishing. 

mwolson, is this expected? When Muse encounters a tag that it doesn't
recognize, does it have problems publishing subsequent tags, or maybe it stops
trying?
