I think I agree with John's argument here. I don't use the mouse unless I have
to and I don't use transient-mark-mode. However, if using C-u when calling
remember, it is probably reasonable to have it paste the current region into
the remember buffer. This would provide the optional behavior for those who
want it, but wouldn't impose that behavior on all users. I also think this fits
in with how many other emacs commands work.
