Thanks for your suggestion. I took a look of org-mode and found it too 
different from what I am used to now with planner-mode. I am very 
attached to planner-mode and have invested a lot of effort on 
customizing it for my own needs, so will stick to it...

Luckily, I found folding.el, which provides what I need for now.

By the way, org-mode is going to be part of GNU Emacs 22.1, is there any 
plan for planner-mode to get included in future Emacs releases? Thanks.
