Yes, I believe that's what I'm trying to do ...

I tried that function as follows:
* Visited my "notes file" (~/.notes) containing items created with
'remember'
* Moved point to a line containing a reference ("[[ ... ]]")
* Executed 'planner-create-task-from-note'
This produced an error message and aborted:
Not in a planner note
