Hello PMC, I'd like to add a default method in the ITextViewer interface. It can cause issues downstream as documented in the API Evolution wiki pages. In https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=547683#c8 https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=547683#c9 https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=547683#c10 and https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=547683#c11 , I explicit the value of this API addition and give data points that hopefully annihilate the risk of breakage to make this change acceptable.
