I know that few of you pay attention to what goes on on the forums, but
it seems there is a pending problem for MacOS Big Sur:

I've opened this bugzilla but I'm not sure if anyone sees it:

I suspect that perhaps some addition entitlements are needed, but I only
have a Mac virtual box and it's not easy to get one of those. It also
looks like the behavior of /usr/libexec/java_home might have changed
also causing problems. It looks like the failure is likely related to
loading libjli.dylib because the failure in this comment works fine on
my virtualbox:
