See https://github.com/eclipse-platform/www.eclipse.org-eclipse/pull/42 for an attempt to merge the news, an alternative approach might be to link the other repository as a submodule if we want to have this a separate repository.

    Hi folks,

It seems that the new eclipse.dev <http://eclipse.dev> domain name
and redirects has taken out Eclipse News.

    Any thoughts on merging
    https://github.com/eclipse-platform/www.eclipse.org-eclipse-news
    <https://github.com/eclipse-platform/www.eclipse.org-eclipse-news> into
https://github.com/eclipse-platform/www.eclipse.org-eclipse
<https://github.com/eclipse-platform/www.eclipse.org-eclipse>?

I know there have been lots of git repo merging recently which I am
grateful for, but I haven't paid much attention to the process.

Any volunteers to merge these repos, or any objection to doing this
    merge?

No objections and I really think this is good move. I can't spend the time to help with it though.

    <https://gitlab.eclipse.org/eclipsefdn/helpdesk/-/issues/3358#note_1168040>:

    TL;DR: merge the content of
    https://github.com/eclipse-platform/www.eclipse.org-eclipse-news
    <https://github.com/eclipse-platform/www.eclipse.org-eclipse-news>
    into https://github.com/eclipse-platform/www.eclipse.org-eclipse
    <https://github.com/eclipse-platform/www.eclipse.org-eclipse> into a
new /news directory and this should fix itself.

The issue here is that for reasons of antiquity the Eclipse platform
project ended up with 2 sites: e.o/eclipse and e.o/eclipse/news ,
with the news 'site' being a hack to allow all committers on the
various platform related projects to contribute.

While that has worked the newer tooling behind eclipse.dev
<http://eclipse.dev> is driven by the PMI which expects a single
    'site' per project.
