There is a page in the manual about installation of gazebo: http://playerstage.sourceforge.net/doc/Gazebo-manual-svn-html/install.html Let me know if you have any troubles following these directions. I have successfully installed gazebo on Gentoo and Ubuntu, and other people have used SUSE and fedora. I wouldn't suggest cygwin, as Gazebo will not work. And feel free to ask any and all questions.
