how this got resolved? because i seem to have same conflict between syslog and
proftpd.
# grep xferlog /etc/logrotate.d/*
/etc/logrotate.d/ftpd:/var/log/xferlog {
/etc/logrotate.d/syslog:/var/log/xferlog {
# rpm -qf ftpd syslog
proftpd-common-1.2.10-5
