works for me - i see no problems running GNOME with hal at all

but in this case is without hal... if you have hal installed but hald not running ? I get messages that cannot connect to hal daemon (propably from gnome-vfs and nautilus do not start.


i've just tested this case - switched off haldaemon and fire up nautilus... and nothing is going on (i've started this outside gnome so i'm getting no messages about disfunction).
