Re linux-source: it might be a good idea to default the include path to:
/lib/modules/`uname -r`/build/include

as that is 1) supposed to be the official path of the include files of the
currently running kernel by decree of Linus (and the rest of the kernel
hackers agree) and 2) all distros ship that as valid as a result
