I found a "lfbprof" program on the scitech website. I got it to detect a vesa bios
just a
minute ago (without any display modes yet) - just the *very* bare minimum.

Does anyone have an idea yet how we will be dealing with actually accessing/displaying
gfx
(pref. with a linear frame buffer - probably requires a plex plugin of some sort)?

There's probably "plenty of work" left on the bios itself, but I need some ideas about
how
to provide available modi (do I 'hardcode' them into the bios, or can I communicate
with
some plex plugin about available modi) + how to "switch" to some gfx mode.

It's more interesting, and doesn't take so long.
