If anyone wants a more recent tarball, you can look at:
"ftp:/ftp.plex86.org". Under the directory "source-tarballs" there is a
snapshot of the last CVS checkout that I was able to compile. It's much more
recent than the May Alpha, but starting to get a little dated. I asked the
Webmasters to link to this when I started maintaining snapshots, but nothing
happened. *sigh*. Kevin asked me to maintain these tarballs, which I am doing
whenever the top of the CVS repo compiles (it doesn't right now).

Are you sure about the Win98 incompatibility? I thought Willow put in a patch
for that a while back. The main problem is lack of support for disk
partitions and the impracticality of creating a Win98 disk image (*big*) as
well as the illegality of distributing same. Anyway, AoE (and most other
games) requires DirectX, which is most definitely NOT supported for VGA only
displays, so even if Win98 would run, George still couldn't run AoE under
Plex86.
