I haven't had time to seriously consider Alan's suggestions for the  
Ada API but in any event I don't think they are something that I can  
knock out quickly. Sorry for not responding sooner. More later....

An extremely small nit--Ada is not spelled with all caps--it is a  
person's name (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ada_Lovelace). Some Ada  
users are a little picky about that. I guess maybe I'm one, since I  
bothered to mention it 8^).
