The Ada interface to PLplot works perfectly on the Linux platform (for the 5 examples that have been implemented so far), and it appears it also works on Mac OS X. Thus, I think it is time to extend testing to other platforms as well such as MinGW (or MinGW/MSYS). Note, however, there is a non-PLplot MinGW user on the CMake list that is having trouble getting Ada to work using our Ada modules. In particular one of the key variables is not being expanded properly on his platform. It's not clear whether he is running pure MinGW or MinGW/MSYS, but I will refer to both possibilities as MinGW from now on.
I don't know whether he has misconfigured his MinGW platform for CMake, whether there is a bug in CMake for MinGW, whether there is something wrong with the CMake build system he uses for his non-PLplot project, or whether there is something fundamentally wrong with our current Ada modules that makes them not work correctly on MinGW or whether there is some other error. However the errors he is getting raise doubts about the PLplot build system for the Ada interface on MinGW, and I would like to resolve those doubts with our own independent testing. So I need an expert in CMake and MinGW to attempt to build our Ada interface on a MinGW platform and run ctest afterward to test the result. The only Ada expertise you really need is the ability to install the gcc version of the Ada language on your computer. After that, you simply run cmake with the -DENABLE_ada=ON option, then make, and ctest. Alan __________________________ Alan W.
