To respond to the part of your report I quoted above, we'll probably keep the old configure method for a little while longer, but not in the long run because that method is unmaintained, and the new cmake-based method produces faster configurations and builds, it is easier for us to maintain, and works on more platforms than the old method. However, up to now we have not had any solaris x86 reports for our cmake build system so your cmake feedback for that platform would be most appreciated.
