Hello,
Since you seem to be interested in a pretty old version of PLplot, I
would suggest trying to find a suitable RPM.
I've posted your message to the PLplot mailing list in the hopes that
someone there will be better able to guide you.
best,

Dear sir,
I'm Rupak Roy, a research fellow from India. I'm interested to work
in GDL. To install GDL, “Plplot” is required. I'm using “Fedora
Core 7” as an operating system in my machine, but was not able to
run “make” after ./configure at the time of “Plplot” installation.
It was giving several errors. I'm working in astronomy and
frequently using IRAF and MIDAS. But in the error it was showing
something regarding “midas” and some other errors also. Please
Suggest, what to do.
The errors are listed bellow.
