Thank you Alan for your help with this. I've added a version check in cairo.cmake. You'll get a warning if your version is less than 1.20.5. To do this I added a version argument to the pkg_check_pkgconfig macro and propagated this change to the other driver cmake files. I don't think I broke anything...
