I agree, and I far prefer <enter> which is also standard for xwin, tk, etc.
I don't have the qt expertise to change this though.

Alban, would you be willing to take a look at changing this
in the next few days so we can be sure to test your change before
5.9.4 is released this weekend?

Andrew, as far as I am concerned you can also remove the prompt in xcairo
about hitting <enter> since that really is a PLplot standard.
