Hi Werner:

Thanks for providing the overview I needed where it appears the STATIC
option was the easiest to try first for building libplplotdmd, but you are
willing to go along with SHARED.

Based on that information, I have now (revision 9989) made a user option for
plplotdmd_SHARED which defaults to OFF.

I request testing of -Dplplotdmd_SHARED=ON (-DENABLE_d=ON must be set as
well for this option to be meaningful.) -Dplplotdmd_SHARED=ON currently does
not work for Debian Lenny because of what appears to be a gdc bug on that
platform, but if/when it works for most platforms, I will change it to
default to ON.
