To Hazen and Hez:

I am addressing this to you guys since Hazen was the originator of the
extXdrawable_demo.c code, and Hez has been doing some changes to the cairo
device driver.

In the past (up to a month or so ago?) extXdrawable_demo produced a simple
red plot on a black background, but now it produces just the black
background. I don't know the source of this regression, but it appears not
to be the recent styling changes since the problem still occurs for revision
9822 (just prior to the styling change) of extXdrawable_demo.c code. Thus,
I suspect the issue occurs because of some of the relatively recent cairo
changes (probably non-styling, but I guess it is possible the styling
changes for cairo.c could have an effect as well).

Would one or both of you be willing to have a look?

BTW, I discovered this regression because of the new test_extXdrawable
target I have just (revision 10550) created, but running extXdrawable_demo
by hand also shows the issue.
