Hi Dave:

I am not going to apply your patch to remove the debugging line (which shows
the direction of the gradient) from the plgradient implementation because
there are still a number of issues with the plgradient implementation that I
am still debugging.  As far as I know, however, the API is stabilized so
whatever changes I make to the C implementation should just instantly
propagate to all other languages.

The current announcement in README.release assumes I will be completely
finished with the plgradient implementation improvements I have in mind by
the time of the release, but if not, I will simply put an EXPERIMENTAL notice
there indicating the internal implementation and therefore plgradient
results are subject to change (as now).
