Do I understand correctly that mouse clicks work (i.e. cause position 
info to be printed) for you with the xcairo driver? I can only get that 
to work on my computer by changing ButtonReleaseMask to ButtonPressMask. 
Could you verify whether it is really detecting the release event in 
your case by dragging the mouse some distance with the button pressed 
before releasing? You are running X windows on OS-X?
