Hi Alan,

I noticed the Cygwin people are quite responsive, notably
Corinna Vinschen, so at the very least you could ask it
again. It may have just slipped through the cracks.

(I remember seeing a very similar post-install error,
when I installed Cygwin under Windows 7, but it seems to
work happily anyway)
