I believe I have now fixed that issue with revision 12888. And since you are currently failing on yelp-xsl, that implies that build_plplot_lite (which does not depend on yelp) finished without issues for you, and you went on to try build_plplot (which does depend on yelp indirectly via the pango dependencies).
