I just checked Ubuntu and it turns out they have been very slow to
move to CMake-3 for some reason so neither 14.04 LTS (a.k.a Trusty
Tahr) nor 14.10 (a.k.a Utopic Unicorn) includes CMake-3. The
pre-release 15.04 (a.k.a. Vivid Vervet which is scheduled for final
release a week from today) does include CMake-3.0.2 so the Ubuntu
users here will have to either be careful to use Vivid or else build
or epa_build cmake-3.0.2 or later themselves.

In any case in a few months time when we release again from master
tip, we should be able to claim that both the latest stable version of
Debian and Ubuntu do include cmake-3.0.2. Furthermore most Debian and
Ubuntu users will have updated to those versions by that time. So I
don't think this cmake version requirement will be a burden for most
of the Debian and Ubuntu users of our next release.
