Hey all,

I just downloaded and installed the newest version of the Plucker Desktop
on my Win2k box, in the hopes of being able to set it up to sync directly
to my card. However, after installation it gave me the following
error consistently:

HotSync operation started 02/11/03 10:05:13
HotSync Error:
An application failed to respond to a
HotSync notification. Please check the Palm Desktop for details. (8009)
HotSync operation complete 02/11/03 10:04:13

Going into the Custom HotSync setup and disabling the Plucker Conduit
didn't fix the problem and I was frustrated for about 15 minutes trying to
disable various other conduits in combinations to see if the new one had
broken something else....

I then started writing this email and go to about here before my "hey,
this is Windows: quit and restart, then maybe even reboot" instinct (or
should that be a reflex? :-) kicked in. My Win2k box basically serves as
a Palm sync server, I use my Linux box for most everything else at work.

Quitting and restarting HotSync Manager made the problem go away. Whew!
It also syncs stuff to my card effortlessly! A minor point though: It
would be more user friendly and certinly less user panicy if the conduit
installer did that automatically, or it at least popped up a message
telling me to do it manually.

Thanks for all the great work on Plucker, the desktop, and all the other
stuff. It's constantly improving and the efforts are most appreciated.
