You are right, my report wasn't accurate there. It is not the current
date, but rather one line further down the page that happens to
contain the date. It is only visible for a short while, because the
menu bar is refreshed shortly after printing this line (okay, weak
excuse ;-)

I found out about this after playing around with the problem some
more. On Pose I couldn't reproduce it, but I don't have a Pose
that supports high res. So I went back to my Clie SJ-30 and noticed
that the problem goes away as soon as I choose a smaller font and/or
smaller line/paragraph spacing the problem goes away. Making the
font larger causes a different line to be printed and scrolling
isn't possible again.

If I may venture a guess: is it possible that an integer overflow
involving the number of pixel rows causes this behaviour?
