Thanks for the suggestion. Unfortunately, I do not have a a gui desktop in which I can change the preference. I have already set --zlib-compression. I still get this error. As I mentioned before, I did not have this problem using a compiled- from-scratch version of the parser with no special settings (other than some different alternate width and height numbers). Perhaps the java based parser does not implement parser options in the same way or as copletely as other parsers? Is it possible that the java version (Mac OS X version on www.plkr.org) is not compiled to use zlib compression?

Thanks for any help you can give. I need those images, and I don't want to go through the compile again if I can avoid it.

A PalmOS 3.1 device can't handle images using the internal PalmOS compression. Well, it can *display* the image, but if you try to scroll a page with such an image the OS will crash...

Turn of the image compression (there is a setting for it somewhere
in Plucker Desktop's preferences) and only use the "normal" ZLib
compression.
