I think the problem that's being referred to is not that the viewer won't
run when installed on the memory card or can't access them.  It's that the
Plucker (or maybe JPluck) conduit not running during Hotsync.

For that to happen, either the viewer has to be in main memory, or some
kind of stub/shortcut/etc. has to be created in memory.  Several of the
"move to card" programs do this.  E.g. I know LauncherX and PowerRun do
this, and I think ZLauncher does as well.  I don't know if there are any
free or open source programs that can create the stubs though.  It might
not be difficult to create such a stub, given that they seem to range on
the order of 2K to 4K, depending on the program, but I don't know enough
of the details of palm programming to know what they actually contain.
I suspect they might require specific hooks to their associated launcher
apps to work at all which would be discouraging.
