You are in luck! Docs are getting rewritten at the moment in SGML instead of TeX. Any patch for OSX will be welcomed.
but have had zero success in actually getting any website downloaded via plucker to sync to my palm.>

No conduit needed. You configure your websites that you want, (including setting a destination of the handhelds that you want them to go to) then you update them by pressing a toolbar button like "Update All". The files are now in your queued files to install. Whenever you next press the HotSync button they should be installed. If not, then there is an issue and feel free to list a bug report on http://bugs.plkr.org, with as much detail as possible.
