dmg / disk image / for OS X?

When I tried to download the disk image (dmg) from the Plucker site, I 
get a torrent file.

1). What is a Torrent file?

2). Can anyone send me the actual disk image or tell me where to get it?

I've used Plucker on a PC at work and would love to use it on my OS X 
machine at home.
