Tony:

On the pan & scan (column display?) the small rectangle represents the
screen and the large one the image. Do their sizes look right (relativly)? Can you
drag the image so you can see the bottom right corner or is that missing?

Wowzers.  I just did a bunch of testing on this and wrote a lengthy email about it as I went.  My assumptions kept getting overturned and eventually I decided only the conclusion matters.

The summary is: In both 320x320 and 320x480 mode, the view-and-frame works with some flaws.  In 320x320 mode, the back button and frame/view don't show except when the stylus is down.  Seriously.  And in 320x480 mode the dots of the view inside the frame never clear... they draw as it is moved but never undraw.  I had a very incorrect idea of what that was supposed to look like because that was the only mode I'd seen it in!   But the ratios are correct and the placement of the view inside the frame is correct, just the redraw isn't and the width of the screen is not being used.

These observations hold true whether in "full screen" mode or not.  (Which means whether in 320x480 or roughly 320x450 mode.)
