I don't know much about eMule or eDonkey, but I do know that
BitTorrent is always going to be faster than those systems, because of the
manner in which it handles the distribution of "chunks" of the files it is
serving via the tracker.
Also, eMule has some sort of 'credit' system, which is going to
slow people down. We don't want to "require" that people have enough
credits saved up to download Plucker.
The eMule/eDonkey protocol has a built-in search, but that would
not be very useful for Plucker, since the website has links to all of the
available torrents possible to use.
eMule/eDonkey also allows "old" versions of files to be made
available, as does BitTorrent, if configured as such.
For the most-part, eMule/eDonkey are used by the crowd that seems
to embrace copyright violations, by downloading unauthorized copies of
music, movies, and other materials. Plucker, as a project, should never be
associated with such a system.
