JPluck X and capturing local files in a directory (Russell Keating)

Russel,

If you use Windows, this should help.

I had exactly the same idea some months ago. I don't synch my e-mail with the
Palm, I just Pluck the messages I want to read later on, like newsletters, etc.

At that time I spoke to Raphael Fetzer, from www.jakewalk.de, author of some
great free apps, such as pdaConverter, a must-have for Plucker users.
pdaConverter will convert several file formats (HTML, images, PDF, RTF, TXT,
etc.) in to Plucker, ZText, and I think DOC.

I had asked Raphael if it would be possible to create something like a "watched
folder", a folder that once anything is dropped in it, pdaConverter would grab
these files and convert them.

Well, he did it! The latest version of pdaConverter will (once it is running, of
course) grab whatever files are in a certain folder and prepare to convert them.
You just have to push the COnvert button. But maybe there is an auto-convert
option I haven't seen. Just set up pdaConverter's default settings the way you
like, and there you go.

pdaConverter has some other great features that all Windows users should take a
look at.

Free, at www.jakewalk.de.

Sincerely,

Michael A. Lees
