I really can't imagine, why a machine with > 100 MIPS and some megs of RAM should not be capable of distilling my regular plucks (average 1 Meg) in an acceptable timeframe. David Desrosiers calculation seems strange to me and may be suiting for the java approach which will be bloated like everything in Java... still I think even in Java you don't need 15 Megs of RAM for processing 400k HTML to 100k Plucker... Ok, anyhow, it seems that I am beneath the few ones who are interested and I am too short in time to really work on that. Perhaps I could think about that, if there was a distiller in C, but it looks like there is none, or am I wrong? I think until then, I do what you all recommended and do the distilling job on my homeserver and using autosync to get the plucks at 4am...
