I was able to pluck the full-size Sunday comic (725x525) with the latest version of JPluck just moments ago, without any problems. I used no embedded images, and set the standalone images to 725x525, and the color depth to 8bpp (16bpp looks "nicer", but is 2x the size; 8bpp is still plenty readable for this).
If I use no embedded images I get no pictures at all even if I select standalone images. Could you tell me exactly what settings you are using on the Formatting tab?
Just to be clear, I see the entire comic, but it only fills the left side of the screen.
