I prefer the strikethrough personally, but it would be nice if it were available as a per-document setting.
Strike-through is great for people that update their documents on a periodic basis and only want to read them once. I keep a number of references (historical documents, dictionaries, etc) and longer reading materials (Gutenberg texts, novels, short stories, etc) in Plucker and these essentially stay forever in the strikethrough display.
A while back, I suggested moving the indication to the type icon in the library <http://bugs.plkr.org/940> by putting a checkmark or an X through the icon. There were even a couple of binaries created which implemented the feature, but it was never merged in with the distribution version of plucker.
Someone even suggested the bold/non-bold text for indication early last year.
