Is there an alternative, besides Opera Mini?
An assortment. My Tapwave Zodiac came with Tapwave Web, based on the
PalmSource Browser v2. Sony Clies came with Web Pro (based on
Novarra's nWeb product), or Access NetFront.
I use Novarra nWeb 4.5 in a Zodiac version, and Novarra offers
shareware copies for a number of platforms. Another alternative is
Mobirus's Xiino 3.4e..
Plucker *should* open the URL in whatever is registered as the default
browser, which may not be Blazer.
I have Opera Mini installed, incidentally. Getting it running was a
bit of a challenge, because the version of the IBM JVM offered through
Palm doesn't run on the Zodiac. I had to find an older version that
did.
Opera Mini works, but the interface does not follow Palm UI
conventions, it doesn't work in the full 320x480 screen on my device,
and it's extremely sluggish. For a mobile phone, it's likely just the
thing. For a PDA, it leaves somewhat to be desired.
I'd *like* to see Opera Mobile for PAlm devices, but Palm apparently
has shown no interest in working with Opera to do this.
