Hello All, I'm interested in learning how to optimize MySQL or MariaDB for a multi-core cpu. Can the database itself benefit from newer quad-core or more cpus?
I have been trying to find this information, but it seems to me that the largest benefit does not come from the database using more than one core, but in the design of the query and running multiple queries... is this true? I would appreciate thoughts, articles, opinions, smacks upside the head... Though I generally do not like arguments like "don't waste time with MariaDB, just use PostgreSQL", I would even consider these...
