I was getting these monthly while on premier. But i have about 6 people at any given time pulling data, Gaming, Streaming video, ect. so i would pop my cap pretty readily, pushing upwards of 450GB/month.
If your router/firewall supports it turn on metering and watch where you pull data and how. If there is a client you don't recognize then you might want to kick it off your network to see. I actually increased my service because i use the data, and want the extra speed, but not because of their email. Right now it is only a notification, but i imagine new service will eventually have a surcharge associated with it. and then pushing people of into a fully metered service, much like mobile providers.
