I was told it was a kernel roll out. Makes sense since I could not see any of my websites. One was giving a server 502 error. At any rate I'd like to hear the inside scoop.

Last night at about 1:30 HostGator rolled out a Kernel update that brought most of their servers to their knees. They are now just finishing the mop up. It took them about 8 hours to fix the issue. Of course HostGator is being tight lipped on exactly what happened and who was effected. It appears all reseller accounts were effected and possibly their retail hosting accounts as well.
