That is normal GMail behaviour. GMail stores your email ONLY in the "Sent" view unless or until it's part of a thread with other messages you didn't send. Even then sometimes your latest email in a thread won't show up anywhere but the "Sent" view. I don't know if it filters a PLUG list response, sees it's a sent-to-self, and hides it or the PLUG list isn't echoing for you, either could explain the observed behavior. Perhaps if you viewed the details of the message that "showed up" after you got a reply you could see if it was your original or the List echo.
