In general id look into this card, I have liked evga decent cards with
decent support and decent reliability, and if you want some 3d
functions but not looking at gaming the 1g o0f vid ram will do nicely.

and i would suggest the nvidia drivers over the stock ones in your
described situation, and less than 60 bux now.

not as cheap at fry, but the rebates bring it down to 40 if you go
with a 512 card
