I had something similar happen on a SLES install. It worked fine for a little while, then all of the sudden, right after post, the keyboard was completely dead, and networking was dead too. CTRL+ALT+Fx didn't work either. I ended up reinstalling, and it is now working without incident. This was on an HP Proliant ML110 G5
