Knowing the greedy Indian mindset (of politicians and businessmen), I
bet they will offer "up to" 8 mbps then say you have a quota of 300mb
per month! (Which at 8 mbps will be over in about 5 minutes?!) I will
be VERY interested to see what prices they offer compared to the
Reliance page we saw...and compared to that Hathway 512 kbps at Rs 250
per month...

I wonder, can normal ADSL equipment even go above 1.5 mbps? I doubt
BSNL is using any new DSL technology to reach 8 mbps! Plus you need to
be located really close (like under 3 km, under 1km better) to the
phone exchange, no?

The BSNL page says they expect to launch in Dec, so I hope we can all
wish each other a really Happy New Year soon!
