I downloaded kernel 2.6.5 from kernel.org and
compiled.
When booted from the kernel got the message:
VFS: cannot mount root fs from unknown block(0,0)
Have you enabled support for your root fs type ?
Is the root= option in grub correct ?

I m using FC 3 (kernel 2.6.9) on Intel 915 board, P
IV, Seagate SCSI harddisk using SATA, root partition
is EXT3
I tried many combinations of SCSI and SATA but all
failed
cant figure out the problem
